SAINTE-MARIE BEAUCE, QUEBEC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2000

(TSE:MXA.) MAAX Inc., a leading North American manufacturer of bathroom, spa and kitchen products, announces the signature of an agreement with Warner Bros. for the design and manufacture of bathroom products under licence.

The agreement will allow MAAX(R) to launch onto the market an array of bathroom products featuring those adorable Looney Tunes(TM) characters everyone knows and loves. Available in July 2000, the first products in the Looney Tunes(TM) Collection will be shower doors, bathtub surrounds and shower kits.

For the first time ever, Bugs, Tweety and friends will appear embossed and imprinted on bathroom products. Warner Bros. has entrusted MAAX(R) to offer Looney Tunes(TM) bathroom products throughout the North American market. "For MAAX, this is a first experience in manufacturing under licence, and we feel this type of product integrates perfectly with current bathroom trends. Today, increasingly the bathroom is becoming a place to both reinvigorate and relax. In addition, it's a place where families can have fun and where a personal touch is important," explained Marie-France Poulin, MAAX executive vice-president, at the official announcement. "Soon, you'll be able to take a shower with Taz and Daffy Duck! We can't wait to offer the Looney Tunes Collection to all kids - big and small," added Ms. Poulin enthusiastically. The products will be distributed mainly through the home renovation centre network and are expected to generate very good sales.

MAAX Inc. is among the leading North American manufacturers of bathroom products, spas and kitchen cabinets. The Company's shares trade on the floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol MXA.
