REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2000
Advanced Digital Information Corporation(R)(Nasdaq:ADIC) announced today the successful completion of ISO 9001 certification for its Denver, Colorado facility.
With the new certification in place, all of the Company's worldwide manufacturing, design, and service centers now meet ISO 9001 international quality standards.
"ADIC considers the completion of our ISO 9001 certification as an important step that demonstrates the Company's commitment to serving our entire world-wide customer base with a single, uncompromising standard of quality," according to Chuck Stonecipher, ADIC President and Chief Operating Officer. "We believe it is critical to ADIC's continued growth as a leading global supplier of data storage products and services."
"The ISO 9001 certification extends to all the elements that support ADIC hardware and software products, including our OpenSAN backup products and new StorNext NAS appliances. It assures our customers that all of our corporate centers execute the entire range of design, test, manufacturing, service and support, documentation, marketing, and finance processes to the same internationally recognized quality standards. In a world where data has become a truly international resource, it means that all our customers -- wherever they are located -- will benefit from the same high quality standards."
As a leading data storage solutions provider to the open systems marketplace, ADIC continues to see exploding growth coming from both "new economy" and traditional industries. "Among both groups, we have seen a recent increase in the number of customers for whom the data is the business," noted Jon Gacek, Chief Financial Officer. "When companies with global reach need to manage and protect data that is increasingly mission-critical, they need international partners who can provide quality that begins in the earliest stages of development, continues through design and manufacturing, and endures for the life of the product. Our world-wide ISO certified systems are the kinds of controls we need to have in place to ensure that we can continue to grow as a supplier of data storage products to this demanding and rapidly accelerating market."
ISO 9001 is a common set of recognized international standards and requirements that define quality principles and practices in all elements of a certified company's operations. Certification is granted only after a thorough review of company-wide systems by a third party auditing organization. Prior ISO 9001 certification is in place for ADIC's Corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington and for its European manufacturing, design, and service center in Boehmenkirch, Germany.
