Symantec to Address Protection Against Virus Attacks at 2000 PC Data Trends Conference

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC) a world leader in Internet security technology, today announced Stephen Cullen, senior vice president of Symantec's Consumer Products Division, will participate in a panel discussion on virus protection at the 2000 PC Data Conference in San Francisco.
During this session today from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. titled, "Virus Protection After The Love Bug," Cullen will address the proliferation of computer viruses and what the computer industry needs to do to protect users against future malicious threats.
"The amount of viruses, worms, and malicious code is abundant and the damage being caused by these threats continues to grow," Cullen said. "As illustrated by the recent widespread virus attacks, computer security is an issue today for everyone connected to the Internet and it is critical that computer users take the necessary steps to protect themselves."
The 2000 PC Data Trends Conference brings together leading industry experts to provide in-depth discussions and insight on the latest software, hardware, video games and Internet trends. The conference, which runs June 8-9, is an annual event hosted by PC Data, a leader in technology market intelligence that tracks and provides timely, comprehensive, point-of-sale reporting for computer hardware and software sales.
Cullen is responsible for Symantec's worldwide consumer business and product strategy, which includes the Norton brand and its market-leading Internet security and problem-solving solutions.
