NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2000
Harris Interactive (Nasdaq: HPOL), a leading Internet market research firm with customer relationship management capabilities, and getCUSTOM.com, the largest online retailer for customized products, today announced an alliance that will provide online shoppers with a combination of made-to-order products and comprehensive customer support. As a result of this agreement, Harris Interactive's Customer Relationship Management Division (CRMD) will provide the appropriate staffing support systems to effectively manage high volume orders, and getCUSTOM.com will continue to provide unique custom-made products.
"The enormous growth of the online retail industry is steadily increasing the need to support the critical customer management gap," said Rick Geiger, President of the Customer Relationship Management Division of Harris Interactive. "getCUSTOM.com's unique product offering creates special customer relationship management needs. We are thrilled to have been selected by them to fill these needs and enhance our quality vision of customer relationship management."
CRMD provides businesses and other organizations with leading-edge capabilities to understand and manage their relations with both current and prospective customers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. getCUSTOM.com's proprietary customization engine allows users to design unique products in categories including sporting goods, men's and women's apparel, accessories, gifts and toys. For example, the perfect watch can be designed in five simple steps that give the consumer access to more than 500,000 combinations.
"Due to the nature of our product offering we understand the importance of having a strong customer service team. Harris Interactive's expertise in Customer Relationship Management was one of the primary reasons we chose them as our partner" said Jeffrey Roth, Founder & Chairman of getCUSTOM.com. "Representatives will be able to answer questions concerning products and policies of GetCUSTOM.com and help online shoppers as they move through the site."
