"Win Ben Stein's Money" Receives Three Daytime Emmy Nominations; Innovative Game Show Cited For Show, Writing And Directing

"Win Ben Stein's Money," COMEDY CENTRAL's hit game show in which contestants test their mental aptitude by competing against each other and ultimately, Stein himself, has been honored with three nominations in the 27th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards competition. This marks the third year in a row that the program has been nominated. "Win Ben Stein's Money" has won a total of 5 Daytime Emmys, including those for Outstanding Show and Outstanding Hosts for Ben Stein and co-host Jimmy Kimmel.
Nominations, which covered programs telecast between January 1, 1999 and December 31, 1999, cited the show in the category of Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. The program's writers, Bob Stone, Jonathan Barry, Gary Stuart Kaplan, Teresa Strasser and Susan Flanagan, received a nomination in the Outstanding Special Class Writing category. "Win Ben Stein's Money's" third nomination went to the director, Dennis Rosenblatt.
The 27th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, sponsored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, will be broadcast on ABC from Radio City Music Hall on Friday, May 19, 2000 and will be produced by dick clark productions. Inc.
The non-televised Daytime Emmy Awards, primarily for the creative arts categories, will take place on Saturday, May 13 in New York at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and in Los Angeles at the Century Plaza Hotel.
Andrew Golder, Al Burton and Byron Glore are executive producers of "Win Ben Stein's Money," Terrence McDonnell is the supervising producer and Jennifer L. Ehrman is the coordinating producer.
