ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2000
International Internet-based telco appoints new leadership
over IP Business Development
Rapid Link Communications(R), a worldwide leading provider of international Internet-based communications services, has re-focused the efforts of IP and Business Development and Carrier Services Departments to expand on the success of the IP carrier alliances the company has ascertained. David Wise has assumed the position of senior vice president of IP carrier sales and business development, as a part of the strategic focus on the development of their IP Carrier relationships.
Over the past 19 months, Rapid Link's IP carrier alliances and network have grown quickly, allowing the company to foresee an all IP network that will send and terminate traffic in the next few years. As Rapid Link merges to an all IP communications company, the newly re-focused department will concentrate on increasing alliance partnerships and strengthening current ones, while continuing to offer the best quality of service and lowest price available. This year alone, Rapid Link expects to terminate 500 million IP minutes.
David Wise, senior vice president of IP carrier sales and business development states, "With the merger of our wholesale carrier and IP carrier services, Rapid Link will be able to more efficiently focus on IP partner alliances domestically and internationally while cultivating current wholesale relationships. Through these alliances and the expansion of our network points of presence (NetPOP[TM]s), we will be able to offer more affordable Internet-based international long distance services to our customers, while strengthening our position as an industry leader in IP telephony."
As Rapid Link targets new alliances and strengthens current ones, the appointment of David Wise brings much anticipation to the success of the department. "David has proven his commitment to the success and growth of Rapid Link for several years. With his knowledge of the company and the telecommunications industry, Rapid Link will be able to create new carrier alliances in untapped markets and set the standard for international telecommunications with IP telephony," says Scott Fogle, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Rapid Link.
David began his career with Rapid Link in 1995 and has held many strategic positions within the company that have accelerated its expansion and growth into an international communications company. As an initial developer and implementer of the U.S. military sales initiative, David signed over 5,000 customers and 100 agents worldwide. He has held the positions as director of U.S. military sales, vice president of sales and senior vice president of business development and carrier services. In his new role, David will focus on the financial objectives of the IP carrier service business, signing agreements with carrier partners and setting requirements for the IP network. Before joining Rapid Link, David was an account executive with Intermedia Communications in Atlanta where he sold international and domestic long distance services to wholesale accounts. He is a graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a minor in finance.
