REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2000

In a recent interview with the IT Radio Network, Corio CEO George Kadifa discussed the growth of the ASP market and the media's hand in promoting it.

"It's with any new market that is being created, the first thing you do is, you need to identify specific needs that the market needs to address," said Kadifa, "and (second), you identify a solution that would address these needs to create a compelling value proposition for the customers to adopt it."

According to Kadifa, the media is also playing a major role in promoting the ASP market to the public.

"What we're seeing is that there's still confusion out there; the media can help us attenuate and eliminate that confusion," said Kadifa. "We can help the media in being more clear about what we mean by ASP and how best our customers are going to use it."

During the interview, Kadifa also discussed why today's CEOs aren't willing to wait years to develop an eCommerce solution.

"If you look at classic ERP implementation, it took at least a year to 3-5 years. CEOs today aren't patient enough to do this a second time," said Kadifa. "I don't think I'll meet a CEO today who would say that he's willing to wait 1-5 years to deploy an eCommerce solution. A year from now, their business will be out of business if they don't have an e-commerce solution."

The entire interview is available free online in RealAudio and text formats at www.ITRadioNetwork.com.
