ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2000

Lawson Software, the Enterprise behind the Internet, today announced seven agreements with key government consultants and contractors to provide Lawson e-business enterprise applications for front- to back-office information management. Lawson is delivering e-business automation solutions to 165 professional services organizations (PSOs) since it announced its commitment to this vertical market in September 1999.

In recent weeks, Lawson has signed contracts with government contractors SRA International, Inc., Fairfax, Va.; Anser Analytical Services, Inc., Arlington, Va.; GRC International, Inc., (GRH), Vienna, Va.; Intellisource Services Solutions, Tucker, Ga.; Vista Information Technologies, Herndon, Va.; ENSR Corporation, Acton, Mass.; and Logicon Inc., Herndon, Va., a division of Northrop Grumman Corp. (NOC).

Lawson's professional services solutions provide businesses with flexible, world-class Web capabilities and real-time access to information without the need for costly, time-consuming data conversion. Lawson is designed for government contractors and other professional services organizations (PSOs) to easily handle indirect costing, billing by labor categories or attributes, contract information for ceilings and limits, multiple revenue recognition scenarios and the billing and reporting needs of a variety of business types.

The early commercial availability of a robust, Web-enabled solution has been a major factor in Lawson's growing success in the professional services industry. Lawson helps users to strengthen customer service, improve the delivery of critical information, reduce internal costs through improved business efficiency and meet more complex reporting requirements.

"Our success with professional services firms can be attributed to customers choosing a totally integrated solution with superior features and technologies," said Carol Hallock, vice president, Professional Services Sales, Lawson Software. "Lawson has earned a solid reputation for delivering competitively-priced implementations, on schedule."

One of the recent Lawson wins, Logicon Inc., is a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Corporation, an international company with more than 11,000 employees, 150 locations and annual sales of $1.5 billion. Logicon is a leader in providing advanced information technologies, systems and services to the U.S. government, including command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, weapon systems, information systems, training and simulation, science and technology, base and range support, and system support services.

"Lawson's capabilities were far and away more highly focused on the needs of professional services than any other major enterprise solution vendor," said Bruno Salamon, project manager, Logicon. "It was the number-one choice across the board."

When Logicon was selecting software solutions to replace its legacy systems, it analyzed offerings from many of the large enterprise application vendors. After an internal review process, Lawson was selected unanimously as the preferred overall solution by all of Logicon's six major business units, including Information Systems and Advanced Technology.

Logicon is using Lawson financials, human resources/payroll and procurement solution suites because of the inherent benefits of a fully integrated system, as well as Lawson's specific commitment to professional services organizations.
