LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2000

In an interview with the newly launched e-business audio Webzine IT Radio Network, Deepak Gupta, vice president and general manager of PeopleSoft's eCenter (Nasdaq:PSFT), talked about PeopleSoft's ASP strategy, the benefits to its ASP partners and why PeopleSoft is the smart choice.

The interview is part of a "Spotlight on PeopleSoft" and can be heard on the IT Radio Network (www.ITRadioNetwork.com).

Gupta discusses how PeopleSoft has an advantage over its competitors in the ASP space.

"A lot of companies are treating ASP as one more channel to send software. In my view, it's all about services. Anybody can vend products, but who can provide outstanding customer service? PeopleSoft traditionally has had an edge over other competitors there," said Gupta.

While many people believe that PeopleSoft's move to supply its applications via the ASP model threatens such partners as Corio, which have been providing PeopleSoft's applications online, Gupta doesn't necessarily agree.

"It's a very healthy relationship and gives customers a choice," said Gupta. "Corio offers best-of-breed solutions, and their value proposition is different from our proposition."

Gupta added, "We're going to enhance our product with ASP channels, and those benefits are going to trickle down to our partners."

Though PeopleSoft has just begun hosting its own applications, its offerings are numerous and will be expanded as the year progresses. "Right now, what we're offering is PeopleSoft Financials, HRMS, eProcurement and Payroll," said Gupta. "In the second half of this year, we'll be expanding to customer relationship software."

Gupta's entire interview is available free online in RealAudio and text formats at www.ITRadioNetwork.com.
