Software Artisans, the leader in the worldwide server-side component market, today announced two key additions to its ASPStudio(TM) family of active server components and a major upgrade of its SA-FileUp file upload and transaction manager.

-- SA-FileUp 3.0/3.1 delivers fast, effective transactional file upload from any Web browser to Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) and includes download and management of files of all formats -- Microsoft Word, image or plain text;

-- SA-JFile 1.0 is a signed Java applet enabling bi-directional file transfer and enhancing the basic capabilities of Java-enabled browsers, and

-- SA-Archive 1.0 is a fast, high-performance server-side component for creating new archives and adding, extracting or deleting files from existing archives.

All three development tools are part of the ASPStudio product suite, a complete ASP toolkit designed to streamline and accelerate the development of robust, scalable Web applications. It also enables developers to receive and process user input while staying within the context of their Active Server application. This latest version of SA-FileUp supports transactional uploads, assuring synchronization between upload processing and database transactions, full Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) integration, and greatly simplified error handling. New features also include a server-side progress indicator, performance monitor counters, guaranteed integrity when uploading multiple files and more.

-- SA-JFile 1.0 provides powerful file upload and download via any Java-enabled browser. A signed, client-side Java applet, it enables the uploading of a variable number of files and downloading files in multiple locations in a single operation. SA-JFile also features upload/download progress indicators and extensive customization features for easy adaptation to non-English languages.

-- SA-Archive 1.0 is a fast, easy-to-use server-side component for creating, adding, extracting and deleting standard archive formats including Zip and Microsoft CAB. Its high-performance features include the generation of a self-extracting ZIP and the enumeration of the contents of archived files. To meet the transaction security needs of Web-based business and commerce, SA-Archive provides digital signatures for archives to ensure that content is safe and not altered or corrupted.
