Integrated XML Security Solutions from Entrust Encrypt and
Digitally Sign XML Documents Sent Over the Internet
Entrust Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENTU), global leader for solutions that bring trust to e-business, announced today its comprehensive set of solutions for XML security that enable organizations to accelerate the growth of business-to-business (B2B) transactions. Today's announcement further emphasizes Entrust's position as the global leader in bringing trust to e-business relationships by securing B2B Internet transactions and communications. Entrust is the first PKI vendor to offer XML security integrated with its solutions to help accelerate the burgeoning B2B e-commerce market.
XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is the common, open, Internet standard that eases data exchange over the Internet. It is the language of B2B e-commerce. Enabling new distribution channels for products and services, XML eliminates technical incompatibilities by providing a uniform method for data interchange between systems. However, high value B2B transactions require comprehensive, integrated security that integrates with XML. Entrust's new set of solutions for XML security extend the XML framework to offer an integrated solution that is ideal for B2B transactions and communications.
Entrust Technologies is committed to the growth and adoption of XML standards to further accelerate the growth of B2B e-commerce. Along with PureEdge Solutions Inc., and other leading vendors, Entrust is a contributing author to the XML digital signature standard spearheaded by W3C. Entrust has the tools available today to enable support for this new standard once ratified.
"Our support for XML security solutions extends our mission of making the Internet safe for e-business," said Nigel Johnson, vice-president, B2B strategic market unit, Entrust Technologies Inc. "Our XML solutions make it easy and safe for organizations to secure XML data exchanges to maximize business relationships through the rapid exchange of confidential information with their buyers, partners and suppliers over the Internet."
Entrust B2B solutions integrate XML security for Web, e-mail, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and third-party applications, building on Entrust's market-leading family of toolkits. Specifically, Entrust's solutions for XML security (see http://www.entrust.com/xml) enable organizations to:
* Secure XML documents sent over the Internet, intranets and
extranets via SSL, e-mail, VPN, and FTP
* Digitally sign XML documents such as InternetForms as provided by
PureEdge Solutions * Encrypt XML documents
PureEdge (formerly UWI.Com) has already implemented Entrust's security solutions to provide digital signatures on its XML InternetForms, bringing a high level of assurance and accountability to its B2B transactions.
"As the developer of the first XML Internet forms software, we feel that XML security is fundamental in our drive to replace traditional paper-based processes with secure InternetForms," said Dave Manning, CTO of PureEdge. "By working with market leaders like Entrust we are able to provide our customers with a high level of assurance that their document content can't be tampered with."
