SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 2000

World Wide Wireless Web Corp. (W4) announced today that the FCC has granted its application for full authority to transmit services to Argentina's Nahuel C satellite.

The FCC formally granted W4's application on March 23, 2000 in a proceeding where W4's application has been the lead application for nearly a year. W4 is now cleared to launch its much-anticipated branded Internet services and direct-to-business digital services utilizing very small antennas throughout Argentina and Latin America. W4 is also offering transport capacity to content and service providers desiring access to the Latin markets via Nahuelsat. W4's operations will include a number of high power, high-speed DVB compliant carriers capable of carrying a wide variety of DVB encapsulated signals including, Internet, IP, video, audio and data broadcast.

"During this 11 month process, W4 worked closely with the FCC and Nahuelsat to ensure it was able to break through a regulatory barrier, which has been in the way of U.S. satellite operators being able to utilize the Nahuel C satellite since its launch," said J. Walter Johnson, W4's chief executive officer. "W4's constant diligence in pursuing this license has finally paid off and now W4 can provide the long anticipated services to our Latin American customer base." Instead of modifying older unused facilities as others have proposed in their applications, W4 is constructing a new facility specifically designed for Nahuel C operation. "Everything we have designed into this facility has been optimized for transmission to Nahuel C, which means W4 can provide extremely reliable and cost effective services to our clients," added Johnson.

Dr. Raymond C. Rask, W4's chief operating and technical officer said, "W4 has had a contract with Nahuelsat for nearly a year in anticipation of the FCC's granting of this license to W4. By being granted full operating authority by the FCC, W4 can now provide satellite transmission services from its teleport facilities in San Diego directly to clients in Argentina and throughout South America. We've designed our service capacity to accommodate many times over our existing customer base. We anticipate significant growth as we help satisfy the hunger that these Latin markets have for high-capacity Internet and digital services."
