UTILX Announces New Director of Marketing, Electric Power Industry

UTILX Corporation (Nasdaq:UTLX) announced today that Jonathan P. Deex has accepted the position of Director of Marketing, Electric Power Industry effective March 14, 2000.

Mr. Deex comes to UTILX with an extensive background in the electric utility industry. For the past three years he has served as the Marketing Manager for 3M's Power Markets Business Unit in Austin, TX where he was responsible for all global marketing activities for 3M's power cable accessories business. Prior to serving as Marketing Manager, Mr. Deex held product management positions of increasing responsibility at 3M's Electrical Products Division since 1992 and directed the launch of several important new 3M products in the electric utility industry during that time. While at 3M, he acquired an in-depth knowledge of the electric utility market including the development of key account relationships in North America, Asia and Europe. Mr. Deex holds an undergraduate degree from Pomona College and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University.
