Andrea Amiel comes to The FeedRoom from ABC NEWS, where she worked as a field producer for 20/20. In addition to spending 5 years with Barbara Walters at ABC, Amiel produced segments for John Stossel, World News Now, Court TV and CBS Evening News. Amiel's work includes the Peabody Award-winning "Journey of Christopher Reeve." She has also won a New York Film Festival Gold World Medal, two Time, Inc. Freddie Awards, a National Headliner Award, a Gabriel Award and two EDI Awards.
Mensch, most recently an associate producer for Morley Safer on 60 Minutes, was with CBS for the past 6 years. She began her career there in advertising and promotions before moving to the Affiliate Relations/Broadcast Marketing department. Mensch switched to the editorial side of broadcast news and produced a series of pieces for Coast to Coast and was an associate producer on the CBS primetime news broadcast Public Eye with Bryant GUMBEL.
These new hires follow last week's announcement of Bart Feder, news director of WABC-TV, as The FeedRoom's vice president of news.
"We are thrilled to be putting together an editorial team with unparalleled talent and commitment to quality journalism," Klein remarked. "Mariana, Andrea and Bart bring the skills and experience that will allow The FeedRoom to create the next generation of television news."
The FeedRoom, poised to launch nationwide June of 2000, capitalizes on the convergence of traditional and new media through the expertise of a top-tier management team, including former executives from CBS, NBC, ABC, and Primedia. The FeedRoom aggregates the latest news and information from all media, including leading networks, local television and radio stations, cable channels and documentary producers, allowing visitors to choose and select their own, personalized newscast.
