ELMWOOD PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2000
Akoo.com, an Internet entertainment network, today announced it will provide comprehensive coverage of the presidential campaign by featuring Virage Inc.'s Campaign 2000 Video Search Engine on its website at http://www.akoo.com.
The Campaign 2000 Video Search Engine offers users a searchable, streaming media video collection of C-SPAN's televised debates, speeches and news surrounding the candidates' road to the White House. Users also may access and track candidates' positions on major issues such as taxes, education and foreign policy. The Campaign 2000 video database will be updated continuously through the general election in November.
"The Campaign 2000 Video Search Engine adds value to our users by making important video news searchable and more easily accessible on our website," said Tammi Franke, akoo.com's vice president of business development. "We're pleased to partner with Virage to help our users keep informed during the presidential race."
Officially launched on April 1 as an Internet entertainment network, akoo.com combines a comprehensive selection of audio and video content with proprietary technology that simplifies and automates Internet broadcasting.
Akoo.com's website features programming from more than 3,000 radio and television stations from around the world, several thousand music videos and movie trailers and additional audio/video programming in numerous categories, including news, sports, television and finance.
Akoo.com's proprietary technology includes one of the most detailed search engines for Internet broadcasting, a scheduling capability that allows users to build customized playlists and the akoo dial, which manages playlists and automates the entire Internet broadcasting experience.
In July 2000, akoo.com also will introduce Kima, wireless technology that retransmits audio from a PC to any home stereo or portable radio system within 1,000 feet.
