Lawson Software, the Enterprise behind the Internet, announced the addition of Ann Wyatt Browne to the position of industry marketing director for the company's professional services business unit. Browne will play a key role in creating and guiding Lawson's market leading initiatives that continue to define the professional services market space.

Browne, a 20-year software industry veteran, served most recently as vice president of industry marketing for Atlanta, Ga.-based Ross Systems, Inc. There she developed business plans and launched marketing initiatives for both healthcare and public sector verticals. Previous to that, she was chief operating officer and manager of daily operations for a consulting firm in the healthcare financial industry.

"Lawson is taking a leadership position in defining the new, fast-growing, professional services vertical market," Browne said. "In particular, Lawson's Web capabilities help meet the demands of today's mobile workforce."

Lawson's early commercial availability of a robust, 100 percent Web-deployable solution has helped Lawson to gain early dominance in the professional services market. Lawson helps organizations to easily handle indirect costing, billing by labor categories or attributes, contract information for ceilings and limits, multiple revenue recognition scenarios and the billing and reporting needs of a variety of business types. Lawson offers a fully-integrated solution to key segments of professional services, such as professional employer organizations (PEOs), staffing offices, business management and IT consulting firms, employment agencies, law firms, engineering firms, government contracting agencies and other services organizations.

"Ann's vast experience in marketing and project management brings new depth to our professional services group," said Carol Hallock, vice president of sales for the professional services group at Lawson. "Her industry expertise and knowledge will help us to better address changing marketing requirements."

Lawson's professional services solutions provide organizations with real-time access to information without the need for costly, time-consuming data conversion. Lawson's professional services solutions give organizations single-point access to integrated business data and unique billing capabilities that shorten the cash cycle.
