First of Omaha Will Use WebIntelligence to Provide Merchant Customers
with Self-Service Access and Analysis of their Banking Information
Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ), the world's leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions, today announced that First of Omaha Merchant Processing (R), a wholly owned subsidiary of First National Bank of Omaha (FNNI), has selected Business Objects to provide an e-BI extranet for its merchant customers. In addition, FNNI, a multi-bank holding company with more than $8 billion in assets, selected Business Objects for its internal e-BI standard. The company purchased BusinessObjects(TM), the query, reporting, and online analytical processing (OLAP) solution from Business Objects, and WebIntelligence(R), the e-BI solution for the internet, for deployment in its merchant processing, bank card, and retail divisions.
First of Omaha Merchant Processing is a premier processor in the direct marketing industry, and also processes bankcard transactions for large and small retailers, restaurants, lodging merchants, petroleum marketers, associations/franchise groups and banks. First of Omaha specializes in providing clients the latest in card processing technologies. The company's WebIntelligence-powered extranet will contribute to First of Omaha's continued leadership in providing advanced e-business customer care, by giving customers immediate, self-service access to information on business indicators such as check authorization, collection services, and fraud prevention.
"We realized that there are data-mining efficiencies which we can offer our customers through customized reporting over the Internet," said Nick Baxter, president of First of Omaha Merchant Processing. "Merchants rely on current and accurate data to make crucial business decisions, which ultimately affect their bottom line. Through the use of WebIntelligence from Business Objects, those efficiencies are realized and can be provided through First of Omaha directly to our clients. We are not satisfied in providing our customers with simple electronic delivery of "canned" reports. Fully customizable electronic reporting and data mining on all levels via the Internet will now be an every day business tool for our customers to improved their bottom-line and make more informed decisions for the future. The flexibility of the Business Objects application suite opens up new opportunities for First of Omaha Merchant Processing in assisting our customers in meeting their business needs. We are committed to setting new standards of product and service excellence within the payment processing industry, and Business Objects will assist us in doing this."
"In the banking industry, providing enhanced customer care and the ability for a company to track constant activity on several fronts is a key to e-business leadership," said Tony Jewitt, vice president of extranet business development at Business Objects. "We are pleased to partner with First of Omaha Merchant Processing, whose Business Objects-powered e-BI extranet gives them a key differentiator in a crowded and competitive marketplace."

About Business Objects
Business Objects is the world's leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions. The company coined the term e-business intelligence in 1998 to describe the intersection of business intelligence and the internet.
Using e-business intelligence, organizations can access, analyze, and share information in intranet, extranet, and e-business environments. In intranets, the company's products provide employees with information to make better business decisions, and are used in environments ranging from workgroups of 20 users to enterprise deployments exceeding 20,000. In the extranet environment, the company is pioneering the use of e-BI in applications that allow organizations to build stronger relationships by linking customers, partners, and suppliers via the internet. In addition, the company's products can improve the performance of an e-business by providing reporting and analysis against the ever-expanding amount of transaction and profile data that is collected each day throughout the world wide web.
