Solutions for Embedded Linux Applications

Metrowerks today announced it is a founding member of the Embedded Linux Consortium (ELC). The ELC, formed at the recent Embedded Systems Conference in Chicago, is a coalition of embedded software companies and engineers with the shared mission of promoting and implementing the Linux operating system in embedded applications.

As a founding member, Metrowerks will join IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, 3Com, Red Hat and others to help define the charter of the group and collaborate with other members on efforts to drive and accelerate the acceptance of embedded Linux. Metrowerks also plans to deliver embedded Linux development solutions based on its CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
