SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2000
Vitessa Corporation (www.vitessa.net), providing the most powerful e-commerce network of suppliers, services and infrastructure, announced today that the leading supplier of video, DVD and video games, Ingram Entertainment Inc., is the newest member of Vitessa's growing network of suppliers within its Vitessa Merchant Exchange(TM).
Unlike traditional affiliate programs that send consumers to another site to purchase products, Vitessa Merchant Exchange is a dynamic merchandising service that allows content-rich and/or high-traffic web sites to sell products at their site directly to consumers. Vitessa Merchant Exchange merchants can source from millions of products in key categories from the Vitessa Merchant Exchange portal, which they then "drag and drop" into their own web environments to begin selling those products immediately. The web merchant needs no warehousing of products -- products are sourced from Vitessa Merchant Exchange on a Virtual Consignment(TM) basis.
"We feel that Vitessa's Merchant Exchange is a creative e-commerce model for distributing products online and Ingram is thrilled to be a part of it," said Bob Geistman, Ingram Entertainment's Vice President of Business Development. "As part of Vitessa Merchant Exchange, Ingram can instantly increase our distribution and our sales through a new channel."
"Ingram Entertainment brings a vast array of popular products that consumers are actively seeking and buying online," said Dave Mullan, Vitessa President. "With the addition of Ingram Entertainment, Vitessa Merchant Exchange has added thousands of name brand products that consumers know and trust."
