Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), the world leader in Internet security technology, announced today that Stephen Trilling, director of Advanced Concepts Group, will speak at the Spring 2000 Internet Service Provider Conference (ISPCON) in Orlando, Florida, May 23-25.
Trilling will address the increased need for embedding security solutions throughout the Internet during his talk today from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., titled "Weaving Security into the Internet."
"As illustrated by recent widespread virus attacks, computer security is an issue today for everyone connected to the Internet," Trilling said. "Today's computer security threats could potentially one day affect PDAs, cell phones or other remote devices that people use to access the Internet. More and more Internet companies are seeing the need to provide improved security as part of their service, in order to protect all of their users from any potential attack."
ISPCON brings together thousands of Internet service providers, Internet infrastructure companies, and Web-based communications experts. The conference will address issues ranging from technology to regulation and from business practices to security issues.
As director of Advanced Concepts Group, Trilling oversees research and development of security technologies that Symantec is building for the Internet infrastructure. Prior to this role, Trilling oversaw the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center, a worldwide team responsible for adding new anti-virus technologies to Symantec's complete range of award-winning Norton AntiVirus products. He has published many technical papers and appears regularly on national television discussing security-related issues.
