NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2000
Second Annual Forum Examines Issues of Profitability and Strategy
for Disparate Players Now in Competition
Jupiter Communications (Nasdaq: JPTR), the worldwide authority on Internet commerce, announced today that Mark Andreessen, chairman and co-founder of Loudcloud, will keynote MindShare: The Jupiter Executive Forum to take place from June 4 to 7 at the Silverado Resort in Napa Valley, California.
Now in its second year, MindShare: The Jupiter Executive Forum deals with the challenges and opportunities that face the highest-ranking leaders in the new economy exclusively. The invitation-only event brings together headline makers from a variety of online and off-line industries for four informal days of networking and learning to challenge conventional thinking. This year's agenda will focus on the issues of profitability and strategy. The elite guest list is made up of approximately 200 top executives; the limited number gathering in an informal environment ensures that discussions will abound and inspire new ideas, new partnerships, and new ways of thinking about the Internet and the future.
Andreessen will join a group of hand-picked luminaries, including Kurt Andersen, chairman, Inside.com; Dan Schulman, president and CEO, Priceline; Kevin Clark, CEO, Screaming Media; Clyde W. Ostler, group executive vice president, Internet Services Group, Wells Fargo; and Mark Wattles, chairman and CEO, Reel.com; to lead thought-provoking roundtable discussions and interactive breakout sessions.
"The Internet has brought forth some nonconventional business models that place traditionally disparate industries in competition with one another," explained Gene DeRose, CEO of Jupiter Communications. "And, as executives witness the weekly mega-mergers and dizzying market fluctuations they are more critical toward their Internet ventures. MindShare is an indispensable event for these leaders to break through these issues, build relationships, benchmark best practices and develop a clear vision regarding the future of their company."
This year's agenda will focus on helping executives address issues of profitability and remain competitive in today's evolving marketplace. The interactive roundtable discussions and breakout sessions will focus on a variety of topics designed by Jupiter's MindShare analysts to provide maximum benefit to time-challenged executives. Topics will include the following:
- Identifying the best metrics to define the consumer; - Creating a psychographic profile for online customers; - Defining markets that are poised for the most growth and the next area of consolidation; - Blending elements of a successful differentiation strategy; - Evaluating business models and the dynamic competitive landscape; and - Identifying the most effective organizational structure for a rapidly growing business.
"What's so exciting about this event is that there is a direct link between the companies that we analyze in our research and those attending the event." stated Meredith Medland, director and analyst for MindShare, Jupiter's executive-focused service. "Regardless of where guests sit in the audience, they'll sit alongside an industry thought leader. And the uniquely informal format helps these leaders to build relationships, which are crucial to stay competitive in today's market, even across very different industries."
Other industry leaders selected to participate in the roundtable discussions will include Scott Kurnit, chairman and CEO, About.com; Marleen McDaniel, Chairperson, president, CEO, Women.com; Charles Conn, CEO, Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch, Inc.; Kurt Andersen, co-chairman, Inside.com; Chris Kitze, vice chairman, NBCi; E. David Ellington, co-founder, chairman, president and CEO, Netnoir; Charles Katz, president and CEO, 1stUp.com and Andrew Beebe, president and CEO, BigStep.com
Sponsors of the Executive Forum include: eBags; Business 2.0; Forbes and ci4net.com.
