SOMERS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2000
The fastest database for data warehousing solutions is now the fastest in transactions, as IBM's DB2 Universal Database shattered the world record for two-tier SAP(TM) assemble-to-order (ATO) benchmark results.
IBM's benchmark, performed on March 26, 2000, achieved processing of 7,700 assembly orders per hour on a 24-way IBM R/S 6000 S80 with 450MHz processors, and 32 GB RAM. IBM's 2 tier benchmark also comes within 15% of the leading 3 tier result (**).
Earlier this year, IBM's DB2 Universal Database also set the performance record for SAP's Business Information Warehouse (TM) (SAP BW) benchmark with 115,570 queries/hour throughput.
Now SAP and DB2 customers can enjoy the best of both worlds, leading edge transaction processing speed with the best data warehousing and analysis in the industry, all delivered by the only database your IT staff needs to administer - DB2 Universal Database.
