FORT MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 2000
Chico's FAS, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHCS) today announced April sales results for the four week period ended April 29, 2000.
Total sales for the four week period ended April 29, 2000 increased 53.2 percent to $19.0 million from $12.4 million reported for the four week period ended May 1, 1999. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 29.8 percent for the four week period ended April 29, 2000.
For the quarter ended April 29, 2000, total sales increased 55.6 percent to $56.7 million from $36.4 million for the same period in 1999. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 30.9 percent for the thirteen week period.
Chico's sells exclusively designed, private-label women's casual clothing and related accessories. The Company operates a chain of 207 stores in 37 states and the District of Columbia. The Company owns 197 stores, franchisees own 10.
