Commerce One Announces Agreement to Launch B2B E-Commerce Portals in the Middle East

the Middle East as Commerce One Launches Commerce One Middle East
- Distributor Operations With a Group of Major Investors
Commerce One, Inc. (Nasdaq:CMRC), the leader in global e-commerce solutions for business, today announced a strategic distributor partnership with a group of leading Middle Eastern investors, to form Commerce One Middle East - Distributor Operations.
Commerce One Middle East would operate the first business-to-business e-commerce portal in the Middle East. The portal is expected to provide fourteen (14) countries in the region with a cutting-edge electronic procurement solution.
Pursuant to this distribution agreement, Commerce One Middle East will establish e-commerce portal operations in this region, and be a distributor of the Commerce One(R) BuySite(TM) electronic procurement application.
Under the distribution agreement, Commerce One Middle East will cover the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
The distribution agreement has the personal support of leading government officials in the Middle East and is a further step in Commerce One's strategic expansion into the international marketplace and the growth of the Global Trading Web. Commerce One Middle East will become Commerce One's sole distributor in the Middle East.
