CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 2000
Natrol Inc. (Nasdaq:NTOL), a manufacturer and distributor of nationally branded dietary supplements, today announced that it would join with renowned pain specialist Dr. David Bresler to create a professional line of supplements to be sold exclusively through health-care professionals.
"Dr. Bresler, the founder of the Bresler Center, is also the founder and Executive Director of the UCLA Pain Control Unit. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the UCLA School of Medicine, as well as a board certified acupuncturist and a health psychologist. Dr. Bresler has written or co-authored some 20 books and more than 100 articles on the management of chronic pain," noted Elliott Balbert, Natrol's President and CEO, when making the announcement.
"The list of Dr. Bresler's credentials and the companies and organizations he has consulted for is a 'Who's Who' of business and industry. Dr. Bresler is a giant in his field. As such, we are delighted to be working with Dr. Bresler to create a special line of high-end products. We are honored that Dr. Bresler has agreed to be affiliated with Natrol.
"Natrol possesses the technology to create very complex, highly efficacious products. However, many sophisticated formulations are too costly to promote through normal retail channels. With Dr. Bresler's involvement and the active support of health-care professionals, we believe that we can serve the needs of those consumers who are looking for specialized high-end products targeted to specific conditions. We will begin with specific products designed to provide nutritional support for stress, pain and sleep deprivation.
"Natrol's mission is to provide the world with products that enhance the health and wellness of mankind. The creation of this line of professionally oriented products falls squarely within this mission."
