BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 2000
Attachmate Corporation announced today the release of Attachmate(R) e-Vantage(TM) Enterprise Access Objects.
To optimize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems, organizations are recognizing the need to integrate data from existing host applications into front office applications. e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects easily and rapidly integrate real-time information from legacy sources into new custom applications, or packaged front-office applications from providers such as Siebel Systems, Inc.
The e-Vantage Enterprise Objects Advantage
Optimal customer relationship management hinges upon real-time access to the most current information. That information is often stored in back-end legacy systems, and a full range of front-office applications may be customized to interact with those systems. With e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects serving as object-oriented conduits, front-office clients can transparently access information from the legacy systems in real-time, avoiding the problems inherent to working with replicated batch data.
The Technology
Attachmate e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects is comprised of a set of client-based COM objects and ActiveX(R) controls that establish direct, two-way, real-time connections with mainframe, midrange, and AS/400(R) enterprise host systems. When called through industry-standard, COM-compliant development languages, the objects connect directly to host systems, navigate through host application screens, and transmit data transparently between front-office and enterprise host applications.
Lisa Dembeck, Attachmate vice president of product development, notes that, "Many large companies have a wealth of back-office data they're not currently leveraging to the fullest extent. Our object technology gives companies an immediate advantage of easily creating new applications, even introducing new business rules, that optimize large-system applications without touching any of the original legacy code."
Rapid Deployment and Security
Attachmate e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects is designed for quick and easy deployment, minimizing downtime during installation. Comprehensive online documentation, code wizards, and sample applications are included to further accelerate this process. To ensure the security of sensitive data transmitted between the host and front-office application, built-in support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is included and can be activated if desired.
Pricing and Availability
Attachmate e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects has a US suggested retail price of $350 per desktop. e-Vantage Enterprise Access Objects is currently available from Attachmate's worldwide sales organization.
