LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000

Secure Computing Corporation (Nasdaq:SCUR) and Rainbow Technologies (Nasdaq:RNBO), announced at the Networld Interop 2000 Conference, a combined high security solution for delivering a PKI-enabled key authentication device for digital certificate and digital signature storage. The integrated solution combines Secure's SafeWord Plus(TM) strong authentication technology for safe, secure extranets for e-business and Rainbow's iKey 2000 authentication token. The combined solution will be demonstrated at the Networld Interop 2000 Conference in Las Vegas.

SafeWord Plus is a PKI-ready, Web-enabled solution that provides Authentication, Authorization and Accountability (AAA) that is easy to install and manage, and offers companies powerful administration features, such as role-based access control and user self-enrollment, using a standards-based LDAP directory. It provides the highest level of security while letting companies open their doors to millions of e-business users.

Rainbow's iKey token together with Secure Computing's SafeWord Plus, offers a strong hardware/software security solution that is ideal for e-business applications. The integration provides an innovative and cost-effective authentication device suitable for a wide range of computer security and information control concerns. The iKey token can be installed quickly into any standard USB port and it is a reliable and easy-to-use security solution in a form factor that fits on a key chain. By enabling certificate storage on the iKey token and providing digital signatures for non-repudiation, the Secure Computing/Rainbow solution allows businesses to implement powerful authentication into their existing e-business infrastructure.

"This is a great match for both companies," said Robert Shields, director of strategic marketing at Rainbow Technologies. "The combination of Secure Computing's world class user authentication and perimeter access control along with Rainbow's sophisticated PKI tokens, companies have a new choice for remote Web-based security."

"With the newly supported Rainbow USB token, Secure Computing can now offer customers the benefits of smart cards without the expense of deploying smart card readers," said Bill Bosen, vice president of product planning at Secure Computing. "This solution eliminates the risk of systems that expose and process an individual's private key within their PC, and the convenient form factor is sure to be a winner."
