ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000
ASPEC 2000, the first technology-to-business tradeshow and conference for the Application Service Provider (ASP) industry, today announced that Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS) will serve as Founding Sponsor. The event will be held December 7-9, 2000 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
"As founding sponsor, Citrix looks forward to assisting in making ASPEC 2000 the definitive event for idea exchange and education about the ASP market in a technology-to-business environment," said Chris Phoenix, vice president and general manager of Citrix iBusiness.
"Our relationship with Citrix confirms our research that the launch of ASPEC 2000 is necessitated by emerging trends in the industry," said Edward C. Conrad, chairman and CEO of SEMCO Productions, organizers of the event. "Citrix will be a great resource in addressing the needs of vertical markets, and defining the direction of the conference program--in short, helping us put a face on the ASP industry for these markets."
ASPEC 2000 will attract the decision makers and key personnel of small to medium-sized as well as Global 2000 businesses in more than 20 vertical markets. Many of these attendees may not use servers, employ full-time IT staff, or be computer savvy. They will, however, have some difficult technology problems, and will attend ASPEC 2000 to eliminate these problems and purchase the cutting-edge ASP solutions offered by exhibitors.
Vertical markets represented at ASPEC 2000 will include education, financial services, healthcare, human resources, hospitality, public administration, sales and marketing, construction, manufacturing, transportation, retail, accounting, wholesale trade, printing, textiles, utilities, apparel, legal services, and communications.
The ASP Industry Consortium (ASPIC), a non-profit organization of nearly 450 ASP members worldwide, has also endorsed ASPEC 2000.
