REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000

CEON Corporation(TM) today announced an alliance with Portal Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRSF), that will result in an integrated solution for service providers targeting bundled services including the voice, data and video "Triple Play."

CEON will develop a direct interface between the CEON NetExpress(TM) service fulfillment software and Infranet(R), Portal's customer management and billing software. The combined solution will enable service providers to offer a dynamic bundling of customized services with real-time billing and activation.

"We are excited to be working with CEON to develop a solution that offers integrated communications providers the ability to deliver value-added services over IP," said Jill Kyte, vice president strategic alliances of Portal.

"By working with CEON and Portal, integrated communications providers can deliver and monetize Web-based services with complete flow-through activation to provide services such as, voice for residential and business, video and cable TV and IP/ISP data services all delivered in real-time."

This relationship combines CEON's extensive experience in managing and provisioning complex telephony and video services with Portal's industry leading real-time customer management and billing solution to enable the "Triple Play" for convergent service providers. The "Triple Play" allows service providers to leverage their brand identity to capture additional services revenue from business and residential subscribers.

"The combination of the Portal and CEON applications will allow service providers to bundle, merchandise, capture orders, provision and bill for a wide range of telephony, CATV and Internet services," said Steve Norris, vice president of business development, CEON Corporation.

"Customers will be able to buy all the services they want and need over the Internet, 24 hours a day/7 days a week, without ever talking to their service provider. This is the OSS infrastructure the industry has been waiting for."

NetExpress integrated with Infranet will provide a simpler way for subscribers to order new services with fully automated and Web-enabled processes -- including sales, order entry and management, problem handling, quality of service, invoicing and collection, as well as provisioning.

Web-based self-service gives subscribers more flexibility in selecting a service bundle and offers the service provider a powerful merchandising opportunity to up-sell and cross sell new services.
