Toshiba Expands Services and Support Offerings; Toshiba's Expanded Suite of Professional Services Provides Customers With New Options for IT Deployment and Management

The Computer Systems Group (CSG) of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. (TAIS) today announced the introduction of a broad suite of Professional Services that deliver customized solutions to meet the unique IT computing needs of customers.
Toshiba's Professional Services offerings encompass three areas: Design and Assessment Services, Deployment Services and Management Services. Included are plans to offer installation of wireless capabilities to new and existing LAN network infrastructures, further bolstering the company's mobile and wireless leadership.

Toshiba's wireless LAN network installation offering will encompass a package of 802.11b hardware and software access points, PC cards and services items, including site survey, deployment and post-implementation support. These services will be available in Q1 2001.
Design and Assessment Services
Design and Assessment Services provide an analysis of customers' current IT infrastructure and its performance. This baseline data is then used to determine improvements to the existing environment or prepare the business for future IT growth requirements.

Deployment Services
Once a blueprint is ready, Toshiba Deployment Services will manage every aspect of the deployment quickly and flexibly to meet financial and critical business requirements.

Easily accessed from the pre-installed icon on customers' desktops, VirtualTech and Premium VirtualTech give customers the freedom to be more productive by providing answers to questions about their specific hardware and software issues. Available 24/7, VirtualTech is integrated with Toshiba's InTouch(SM) Center. Users choose the type of support they desire -- self-help, interactive e-support, remote diagnostics or enhanced telephone support.
Premium VirtualTech, available on a subscription basis, further expands these features to include additional knowledge resources. Included are more than 150 of the most popular third-party software titles as well as a library of more than 20,000 multimedia tutorial presentations. Premium VirtualTech also provides e-support for third-party hardware/peripherals attached to the Toshiba computer.
