Integration of AppManager and Remedy's AR System(R) Increases
Productivity and Effectiveness of System Management Personnel
NetIQ(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: NTIQ) and Remedy(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: RMDY) today announced that NetIQ has joined the Remedy Product Partner(TM) program and NetIQ also announced that it has released the NetIQ AppManager Connector for Remedy's Action Request System(R) (AR System).
This partnership brings together NetIQ's performance and availability management software suite for Windows NT- and Windows 2000-based systems and applications with Remedy's industry-leading enterprise application for e-business infrastructure management. This powerful combination provides customers with an integrated solution for managing and improving service levels delivered to the enterprise. With its membership in the Remedy Product Partner program, NetIQ has received certification for the AppManager Connector for Remedy's AR System, which allows customers to seamlessly automate the integration of AppManager e-business infrastructure performance and availability events directly into the Remedy AR system. This capability allows customers to combine and leverage the power of both their Windows-centric e-business infrastructure management solution and their help desk, increasing efficiency and reducing complexity for IT staff.
"NetIQ is pleased to join Remedy's Product Partner Program and offer our joint customers the ability to further streamline their service management delivery for Windows NT- and Windows 2000-based environments," said Rick Pleczko, senior vice president of marketing at NetIQ Corporation. "Remedy and NetIQ are both focused on keeping our customers' e-business infrastructures available and performing, and this partnership is a powerful combination to service those needs across the enterprise."
With the NetIQ AppManager Connector for Remedy's AR System, critical system events detected by AppManager can be forwarded automatically to any Remedy AR help desk system. This automated event integration enables IT personnel to be more responsive to service needs of the entire organization, as well as gives help desk managers the ability to use a single console for a cohesive view of problems in the enterprise. Once forwarded to the AR System, status updates to the Remedy case can be passed back to the AppManager console to acknowledge or close the original AppManager event, keeping the various groups within IT informed and synchronized. Since Remedy environments are often highly customized, the AppManager Connector for AR System also provides the flexibility to easily map AppManager information to current Remedy fields and forms or apply additional, pre-forward event filtering to present event data in a manner that fits the workflow processes of any IT organization.
"Our clients have been looking for ways to better manage their Windows NT- and Windows 2000-based environments," said Jim Stansbury of Strickland Consulting, Inc., a consultancy firm that has done a number of AppManager and Remedy implementations. "The AppManager Connector for Remedy's AR System provides us with a solution that enables us to quickly and easily assist our customers in integrating AppManager with their Remedy Help Desk(tm) application. And, it helps our clients more quickly realize the intended business benefits of their Windows NT and Windows 2000 infrastructure." "The Remedy and NetIQ integration provides a comprehensive, pro-active IT infrastructure management solution for our customers and partners in the Windows NT- and Windows 2000 environments," said Mark Halvorson, product partner manager, Remedy Corporation. "This solution demonstrates yet another dimension to the flexibility and adaptability of the Remedy platform."
