CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2000
-- MatrixOne Announces a New Integrated Portfolio of Applications to Deliver Intelligent Collaborative Commerce Throughout Value Chains --
MatrixOne, Inc. (NASDAQ:MONE), the first in Intelligent Collaborative Commerce(TM), today announced a major extension of its product strategy. MatrixOne's Value Chain Portfolio(TM) will leverage the Company's broad experience with customized solutions and the industry-leading technology of its eMatrix(TM) platform to focus on delivering complete sets of plug-and-play enterprise applications targeted at connecting specific high-value functions in the value chain. The key differentiator for this portfolio of applications is the depth and breadth of collaboration across the value chain, extending companies' business processes to their suppliers, partners and customers. In addition, MatrixOne will now leverage its eMatrix engine by creating a framework that allows development of applications by customers and third-party developers. All applications developed to this framework will seamlessly integrate with applications developed by MatrixOne.
MatrixOne's Value Chain Portfolio includes two currently available applications, Supplier Central(TM) and Software Central(TM), and today's newly announced application, Configurator Central(TM). Starting now, and continuing through the coming months, MatrixOne will be delivering additional applications within the portfolio that provide ready-to-use solutions for other key challenges throughout value chains. These applications will extend the solutions' scope of the portfolio to include delivery of product and service information to interactive catalogs, further integration of design and manufacturing resources, and more tightly integrated management of project-, product- and service-related business processes.
Mark O'Connell, president and CEO of MatrixOne said, "We are excited to leverage the wealth of experience we've derived from creating custom solutions with our customers through the industry-leading technologies of our eMatrix platform, to bring ready-to-use solutions to more quickly meet the exploding demand for Intelligent Collaborative Commerce across industries and markets in an easy to deploy, rapid return on investment form."
Key to the value of the portfolio is that it is built on the industry's most open and extensible collaboration engine, eMatrix. Any applications developed for the eMatrix engine have access to its best-of-breed abilities to work across multiple data types (crucial to building value chains across disparate organizations) and to securely extend business processes across the Internet.
