PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 2000

Docent, Inc. (Nasdaq:DCNT), a provider of eLearning infrastructure software products and services, announced today that European business school INSEAD has selected Docent Enterprise to power its new eLearning program, INSEAD Online, which will be available to corporations in January 2001. INSEAD Online adds a new, online dimension to the institution's globally recognized courses. Together, Docent and INSEAD Online are providing corporations with an eLearning platform that will make management education easily accessible while still maintaining INSEAD's standards of education excellence.

"We are very pleased to be working with INSEAD, one of the world's most respected education institutions," said Dave Ellett, chairman, president and CEO of Docent. "This partnership combines INSEAD's teaching expertise and quality course content with Docent's eLearning platform to provide corporations with an online solution to improve management skills."

INSEAD Online will use Docent(TM) Enterprise to enable corporate students to use any standard Web browser to:

-- plan and select learning programs based on personal learning styles and
needs

-- provide self-service, online registration for all types of learning events
including self-paced courses, virtual classroom courses, dialogs with tutors,
and traditional classroom-based learning

-- assess and certify knowledge and performance

-- ensure that learning objectives are met

"We will launch a series of online modules to a selected group of corporate partners for starters and expect to involve more than 2000 participants during the first year," said Jane Sommers-Kelly, director of INSEAD Online. "We chose Docent primarily because of the flexibility and adaptability of Docent Enterprise. The fact that it has won several awards in the United States and that educators like Harvard Business School are already using this software in similar fields had a major influence on our decision to use Docent. As an organization, Docent perfectly understands our needs, so it's a really strong partnership."
