LEXINGTON, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 2000
iHigh.com, the official high school Internet network, and CGS InfoGraphics Automation, a leading broadcast graphics automation company, today announced the formation of a joint venture in which they will provide up-to-the-minute high school sports scores to the broadcast, cable and internet industries.
Through this venture, high school sports scores will be collected through the iHigh.com website and redistributed electronically to television stations, cable systems and Internet portals. This wire feed, called ScoreSolution(TM), provides broadcasters with up-to-the-minute, local high school sports scores that can be automatically interfaced with CGS's ScoresNOW! Display System. The ScoresNOW! Display System allows television stations and cable networks the ability to display this automated information in a lower-third ticker or full screen, along with National and Professional sports scores delivered from SportsTicker(R). ScoresNOW! also enables sponsorship graphics to be prominently displayed along with the sports scores for an additional revenue stream, without using any commercial inventory. The High School sports score information can also be automatically sent to each station's Website.
"ScoreSolution(TM) is the result of two companies whose vision has been to deliver timely information in a convenient way to those who need it most. Broadcasters, cable networks, and consumers all want this accurate information at their fingertips. With the resources of the iHigh.com network and CGS InfoGraphics Automation, we can deliver it," said Gene A. Hamm, Partner at CGS.
Backed by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), iHigh.com provides high schools with a free web site that connects scholastic, sports and activities to iHigh.com's premiere high school network. Students, parents, alumni and other school supporters can easily connect with schools at a local, state and national level to follow local sports statistics, find activity schedules, or support their school with on-line commerce and advertising.
"The iHigh.com network was created to deliver information to students, parents, alumni, and friends through a convenient and entertaining approach," said Tim Campbell, Chief Operating Office of iHigh.com. "By partnering with CGS on ScoreSolution(TM), iHigh.com is further expanding its audience of sports and activities enthusiasts and adding to the already extensive content the network has to offer."
Every school that signs onto the iHigh.com network uses innovative online technology called School Toolz(TM). This allows the schools to build their own sites and feature information unique to their school with easy online, password-protected templates, giving them access to a professionally designed web site that requires no HTML programming. This software also allows the flow of information to move in every direction within the iHigh.com network.
After a high school game, designated officials will have the opportunity to record a high school's final score by calling a toll free number and using password-protected phone automation or online via School Toolz(TM). This score information is collected and immediately redistributed as the ScoreSolution(TM) Wire Feed to broadcasters for use in sportscasts and on station Websites. This wire feed will include only high school sports scores initially, with plans to evolve to other forms of information such as game statistics and schedules.
