SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2000

Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. announced that it commenced today its initial public offering of 4,500,000 shares of its Common Stock at a price of $11.00 per share through an underwriting group managed by Merrill Lynch & Co., U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, Wit SoundView, and SG Cowen.

All of the shares were sold by the Company. The Company has granted the underwriters an option to purchase an additional 607,500 shares to cover over-allotments, if any. Alliance Fiber Optic Products' Common Stock will be traded on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol "AFOP."
