Ciprico to Demonstrate Storage Solutions for High Fidelity Imagery Applications During I/ITSEC 2000

Ciprico Inc. (NASDAQ: CPCI) announced today that attendees at I/ITSEC (Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference) in Orlando, Florida, November 27-30, 2000, will see Ciprico's bandwidth capabilities with the FibreSTORE RAID storage solution as well as Ciprico's latest Fibre Channel product, NETarray, in booth 1157 at the Orlando Convention Center.

Ciprico's newest product, the NETarray, will be providing playback for a demonstration of HDTV resolution motion imagery. The NETarray simplifies storage management and maximizes Fibre Channel throughput by moving management out-of-band to an integrated Ethernet port. The configuration and monitoring of the array are supported over standard industry protocols SNMP, SMTP, and FTP. These tools make the NETarray a truly platform independent solution. It also provides multiple RAID levels of 0,1,1 0, 3, 5 and 5 1, and industry leading storage density by packing 730 GB into a 5.25 inches high enclosure. This overall performance provides an outstanding solution for applications found in modeling, simulation and imagery. The NETarray will also be part of a demonstration in Edgemark Systems booth 1058. Edgemark Systems is a Federal reseller of Ciprico storage solutions.

Ciprico's second demonstration will feature the SAN ready FibreSTORE RAID as the source for all terrain and texture data for 360,000 sq. mile geo-specific database and material map, with resolutions up to .5m/texel. AFRL and Aechelon Technology will feature this database in a high fidelity, multi-spectral flight simulation application in the SGI booth. The FibreSTORE RAID provides the real-time consistency and high bandwidth performance necessary for high fidelity playback, full redundancy for 7X24 operation, and can be scaled to tens of terabytes as the size of the imagery databases grow.

Most recently, Aechelon Technology successfully completed the delivery of the visual system for the AV-8B Harrier Radar Night Attack Trainer Visual Upgrade Program in Yuma, AZ.
