CHICAGO--(BW HealthWire)--Nov. 27, 2000

INPHACT, Inc., a leading Application Service Provider (ASP) in the imaging market, announced today that Agfa Corporation has signed a 2-year agreement that enables hospitals and outpatient clinics to purchase INPHACT ASP services through Agfa Corporation's IMPAX(R) Solutions sales representatives. This broadens customer access to IMPAX Solutions offerings as significant portions of the INPHACT ASP solution are powered by AGFA's IMPAX PACS system. The agreement was announced today at the Radiological Society of North America 86th Scientific Assembly, (RSNA) here this week.

"Agfa is committed to providing industry leading PACS ASP services to all market segments. We are pleased to be able to offer the proven ASP services from INPHACT. This provides our customers with more options in implementing a digital radiology solution while still using IMPAX Solutions PACS and integration services. INPHACT's integrated radiology information system, remote digital archive and web distribution capabilities provide a great match for Agfa's industry leading PACS and Computed Radiography equipment," remarked Doug Tucker, Vice President, Agfa IMPAX Solutions.

"The agreement allows us to expand our market reach and to leverage Agfa's expertise in customer site configuration, installation and support. Demand for our ASP solution has surpassed all of our original projections. Our expanded relationship with Agfa will help us try to satisfy our customer demand," indicated Jonathan Lehman, President & CEO of INPHACT.

ASP is a technical solution that allows diagnostic imaging departments to "rent" the combined INPHACT/Agfa technology platform and includes digital acquisition equipment, information software, image distribution and the image storage needed to convert a radiology department from film to PACS. The hospital or clinic pays a per procedure fee, avoiding the large capital outlay to purchase and maintain PACS/RIS technology and then utilizes a turnkey digital image archive, Internet transmission of images and reports and a fully functional radiology information system (RIS), all delivered from an offsite data center.

The contract is expected to result in at least 2,000,000 additional annual radiology procedures processed through INPHACT's state of the art data center. Agfa joins Dallas, Texas-based Artesian Medical as INPHACT's only currently authorized reseller organizations.
