NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2000
Internet Commerce Corporation ("ICC") (Nasdaq:ICCA), a full-service provider in all aspects of e-commerce trading community development and Internet data exchange, today announced a new shipping package labeling product for the retail industry. The product, named Terminus(c), is offered through Intercoastal Data Corporation (IDC), a full-service provider of e-commerce outsourcing for small and medium suppliers to the retail industry and wholly-owned subsidiary of ICC.
Terminus(c) is designed to produce UCC 128 case labels for remote locations. UCC 128 case labels, which include barcodes for scanning, are required by most retailers in order for them to receive and accept shipments of ordered goods. Additionally, retailers generally demand their own format within the UCC standard. Terminus(c) supports the requirements of more than 140 leading U.S. retailers including Sears, JC Penney, Federated Department Stores, Target, Saks, and Dillard's. Terminus(c) uses the Internet to send UCC label information to the remote location where they may be printed locally. Terminus(c) currently supports five languages including English, German, French, Spanish, and Korean with additional languages anticipated in the coming months.
Dr. Geoffrey S. Carroll, President and CEO of ICC, stated, "With the acquisition of IDC and our recently announced agreement with Korea CALS/EC, we are expanding our services to the retail industry on a global basis. Terminus(c) now provides international suppliers to the U.S. retail market with an efficient and cost-effective manner to produce standard-compliant shipping labels, interfacing with the system in their native language. We expect this and the other services provided by our IDC subsidiary to make us the top choice of small and mid-level manufacturers in the global marketplace."
