NeaTSuite for Lotus Notes brings together Trend Micro's
best-of-breed antivirus and central management solutions for the
entire network, from desktop to gateway
Trend Micro Inc. (NASDAQ: TMIC), the leading provider of antivirus products for the Internet gateway, today announces NeaTSuite(TM) for Lotus Notes, which brings comprehensive desktop, server, and gateway antivirus and management tools to enterprises using the Lotus Notes messaging and collaboration platform. By combining ScanMail(R) for Lotus Notes with its award-winning InterScan(R) VirusWall(R), ServerProtect(TM), OfficeScan(TM) and Trend VCS(TM) products, Trend Micro is providing a cutting-edge, comprehensive software solution that interlocks to provide a powerful, multi-layered defense against viruses and other malicious code.
Notes environments remain popular among large corporations and organizations that demand a highly scalable and robust messaging and collaboration platform. Consulting and Market research firm Radicati Group estimates 29% of Fortune 1000 firms have standardized on Lotus Notes as a messaging system. Domino Notes' messaging capabilities, collaborative file sharing, and server replication features provide a ripe environment for Internet and email-borne viruses to replicate, spread between servers and travel through email to the client where they can infect and do damage.
One of the first Notes products certified by ICSA for its ability to detect 100% of in-the-wild viruses, ScanMail for Lotus Notes is still the only antivirus solution to support the full range of enterprise platforms for Notes including Windows NT, Solaris, and IBM eServer pSeries (formerly AIX), and is Windows 2000 compliant. ScanMail for Lotus Notes also fully supports Domino R5 for the IBM zSeries (formerly S/390), IBM iSeries (formerly AS400), and Windows NT.
"Many of our Notes customers started requesting a NeaTSuite package that included ScanMail for Lotus Notes when they realized the benefits of a multi-layered defense system. Recent events in the news point out how vital it has become for organizations to have integrated protection products protecting virus entry points throughout the network," commented Oscar Chang, senior vice president of product management at Trend Micro. "Now, we can offer the same value and security to our Lotus Notes users as we do for our Exchange customers."
