Publishing Leader Looks to Artesia's TEAMS(TM)Digital Asset
Management Solution to Support Publishing, Marketing and New Media
Activities
ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2000
Artesia Technologies, the leader in enterprise digital asset management, announced today that Time Warner Trade Publishing (TWTP) has selected its software solution to support a corporate-wide e-business initiative designed to expand the reach of its extensive publishing holdings.
TWTP will utilize Artesia's award-winning TEAMS digital asset management solution to create enterprise-wide, web-accessible digital archives for the storage and reuse of both print and audio books and their individual components. The system will also manage other related assets such as original manuscripts, book jacket and cover artwork, author biographies, fact sheets, and editorial reviews.
The development of this central repository will enable the company to streamline its internal workflow and enhance its marketing capabilities, while also supporting a variety of new programs, including the company's eBook and eTailer initiatives.
"Time Warner's embrace of digital and cross-media publishing has engulfed both our publishing and business operations in a significant e-business transformation," said Lawrence Feldman, vice president of operations for Time Warner Trade Publishing. "Artesia's TEAMS solution provides us with the platform for making this evolution as it enhances our organizational efficiencies by enabling us to find and retrieve assets more quickly and easily, while also simplifying the packaging of our promotional materials for distribution to our internal web sites and external eTailers. Going forth, TEAMS provides us with the ability to leverage our existing assets by facilitating enhanced interactions with our downstream customers and contributing to the creation of new revenue streams through the production and distribution of eBooks and print-on-demand titles."
The parent company for Little, Brown and Company, and Warner Books, TWTP is one of the world's leading book publishers with such current best-selling authors as David Baldacci, Sandra Brown, James Patterson, Sidney Sheldon and Nicholas Sparks. As demonstrated by the company's adoption of digital asset management under the guidance of Feldman and Maureen Egen, president and COO of Time Warner Trade Publishing, and the launch of iPublish at Time Warner Books, TWTP also continues to be one of the industry's leading innovators.
"While the out of the box benefits of Artesia's TEAMS solution were readily apparent to us, what really set the company apart was their ability to further enhance this platform to meet our unique needs," commented Egen. "As a result, we're already seeing major business benefits from our adoption of digital asset management and we're more than delighted with the technology and service that Artesia delivered."
"TWTP's initiative to merge new media and traditional publishing mediums is a great example of how digital asset management can be used to achieve strategic corporate goals," said Scott Bowen, president and COO of Artesia Technologies. "With the groundswell of support that the project's initial success has created throughout the entire Time organization, we're confident that this effort will soon redefine publishing and usher in a new golden era in literature."
