IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2000
Kofax Image Products, a leading manufacturer of software and hardware for electronic document and data capture, and OTG Software (Nasdaq:OTGS), a leading developer of online storage, data access and e-mail management software, Monday announced a partnership that integrates Kofax Ascent Capture document capture software used in high volume scanning applications, with OTG's suite of software products.
The combined solution, called Ascent Capture for OTG, is available now and will be sold through OTG's partners and channels.
Ascent Capture software digitizes paper documents at local or remote sites across the enterprise, extracts data from them and seamlessly integrates that information into the leading workflow and content management applications. The recently released Version 4 adds a customizable architecture for complex, high volume and distributed applications.
The Kofax-OTG agreement permits OTG to sell an OTG-branded version of Ascent Capture and to further integrate and customize Ascent Capture into its suite of software products. The suite includes Web-enabled solutions for front-end data generation and storage management.
"We are excited to partner with Kofax, and have selected Ascent Capture as the high speed front end scanning application to our data access and storage management products," said OTG Software President and CEO Richard Kay.
"Helping our customers get a superior product from a single source makes sense."
"We're pleased that OTG has selected Ascent Capture as the latest addition to its integrated products," said Kofax President and CEO Arnold von Buren. "OTG customers and resellers can expect the same unwavering commitment to quality that has helped us sell more than 15,000 Ascent Capture licenses since 1995."
