SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2000

Comdial (Nasdaq:CMDL) subsidiary Key Voice Technologies announced the latest release of Interchange(R) its unified messaging solution that makes email, voice, and fax messaging integration viable in all Microsoft Exchange CPE and ISP-based email infrastructures. This new design gives companies the flexibility to choose the deployment method that best fits their business model -- either fully synchronized with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook or as an Internet standards-based (IMAP4) set-up that requires no specific desktop software. System administrators can now select the best delivery method for any given user on the system. This decreases the total cost of ownership by streamlining implementation time, decreasing administration tasks, and reducing client license costs.

Interchange builds on the powerful features, reliability, and security of Microsoft Windows 2000 and utilizes state-of-the-art Internet standards. IMAP4 protocol allows you to navigate your inbox from any touch tone telephone any where in the world -- managing voice, fax, and email messages as well as the ability to browse attachments. By streaming message data using RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol), message retrieval across the Internet becomes convenient and practical.

With its sophisticated architecture and design, Interchange is flexible and robust enough to be deployed in ISP/ASP-based solutions as well as more traditional CPE-based environments.
