Produces More Than 400 Applicants
Deloitte Consulting has hired 10 senior e-Business consultants who are among the top professionals in their field from several major competitors to fill key positions in its rapidly growing e-Business consulting practice. The new consultants have joined Deloitte Consulting, one of the world's leading e-Business consulting firms, from both traditional firms such as Arthur Andersen and new economy firms such as answerthink.
"Our former competitors are joining Deloitte Consulting because they recognize that we 'get' the New Economy and know where the value lies," said Cathy Benko, Global e-Business Leader. "E-Business is our business. We create systems and solutions that have real staying power, and we don't shy away from the heavy lifting required to get the job done."
In addition to filling these 10 key e-Business positions, Deloitte Consulting is actively recruiting consultants who have become disillusioned with the up-and-down nature of the pure-play e-Business consulting firms. The firm has recently run a full-page ad in both the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times asking employees of the pure plays to consider employment with Deloitte Consulting, focusing on the breadth and depth of its services as well as its stability. "To date, we have received more than 400 resumes, many of them from employees of competitor firms, and we are actively interviewing those who responded," says Benko. "Many of the applicants are of very high caliber, and we are very pleased that we are so attractive to a broad range of e-Business professionals."
Bob Kurtz, who left KPMG to become leader of Deloitte Consulting's Digital Asset Management practice, confirmed Deloitte Consulting's pre-eminence in the e-Business field. "The firm's professionals are simply the most innovative in their approach to e-Business consulting that I've seen," Kurtz said. "The result: the most forward-thinking solutions I've experienced in my years of consulting."
The 10 Deloitte Consulting e-Business appointments are:
Scot Armstrong, Senior Manager in the firm's e-Strategy and e-Supply Chain Practices; formerly a senior manager in the aviation and aerospace practice at Ernst & Young LLP.
Adam Bauman, Chief Global e-Commerce Officer; formerly Chief International E-Commerce Officer at American International Group, Inc. and Executive Vice President, E-Commerce, North America at Young & Rubicam/WCJ.
Bob Boehm, Senior Manager in the dc.com Practice and Deloitte Consulting's Global B2B team focusing on eMarketplaces; formerly a principal at Arthur Andersen.
Glenn Dinetz, Principal in dc.com, as well as Deloitte Consulting's manufacturing and financial practices; former director in the e-Business strategy practice at answerthink and a partner with KPMG Consulting.
Peter Firestone, Principal; formerly a partner in the e-Business unit of Ernst & Young LLP.
Blake Geoghagan, Lead Principal for e-Business Strategy; formerly an Associate Partner in the Strategy Formulation Practice for Andersen Consulting, and a National Service Line Leader for Ernst & Young LLP.
David Hammond, Chief Executive Officer of Aligning Markets for dc.com's e-Business Practice; formerly a director of answerthink Consulting Group and Global Director for Andersen Consulting's eCommerce Group, Communications Industry.
Dennis Hill, Delivery Champion to direct e-Business delivery capabilities; formerly a senior practitioner at AT&T Solutions, Kurt Salmon Associates and Andersen Consulting.
Bob Kurtz, Digital Asset Management Practice Leader; formerly a director at KPMG in Communications and Content Practice.
Ed Rader, Consumer Business Principal; formerly an associate partner at Andersen Consulting and fulfillment and logistics practitioner at Kurt Salmon Associates.
"The incentive to join Deloitte Consulting's burgeoning e-Business practice is strong," said Benko. "We are launching our own e-businesses as well as building e-business systems for our clients. That means we're able to give our practitioners an active stake in new ventures as well as in a consulting and business-building practice that will continue to flourish for a long time to come."
