DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2000

International Foam Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB:IFOS) announced today that the Company and its patented proprietary process, the Styro Solve(TM) System(c), is pleased to announce it has launched its program at Bakersfield City Schools utilizing the 3500 series of industrial equipment.

Bakersfield is the largest elementary school district in the state of California and will be the site of the 30 day pilot program. The elementary schools in the district serve approximately 33,000 meals per day. "This equates to almost 7,000,000 meals per year not including the middle schools or high schools. Following the completion of the pilot program these schools will also be included in the program bringing the total number of meals to approximately 12,000,000 meals per year. This will result in use of about 6,000 to 8,800 gallons of Styro Solve(c) per year," stated Harvey Katz, CEO of International Foam Solutions, Inc. This has a retail value of $120,000 to $176,000 per year.

By using the 3500 series of equipment, which can reduce up to 22,000 foam trays per hour, the school district needs only one piece of equipment for the entire program. This program allows the school district to collect polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam(R), a trademark of Dow Chemical (NYSE:DOW), from all of the 42 elementary schools in the district at one centralized processing warehouse. There it can be treated with Styro Solve(c) to achieve a reduction of 80 to 90%. This makes it recyclable. Styro Solve is the only chemical that is environmentally safe and has the full acceptance of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The pilot program is the second phase in implementing reduction and recycling programs within California School Districts. Several school districts participated in the first phase of the program, in which Dippy Foods (OTCBB:DPPI), IFS' foods service distributor, placed smaller standard recycling machines in each school. The success of this program led to the implementation of the centralized program. All participants in the first pilot program have expressed interest in implementing the Styro Solve program within their school districts and had an average of 85% volume reduction in waste material.

California Assembly Bill No. 939 mandates that all city municipalities recycle at least 50% of their waste starting January 2000. To date schools have been exempt from this mandate, due to their lack of funding to implement recycling programs, but the school district's waste still adds to a cities total tonnage of waste.

There are over 94,000 public school districts in the United States and according to Dippy Foods most schools now use disposable foam trays to serve their meals on and no longer wash dishes or silverware. "This is largely an economic issue since polystyrene foam is less expensive, uses less labor than washing and saves our precious resources of water and electricity used by washing. Our objective is to show school districts that by using The Styro Solve System(c) they are saving money by reducing the trips to the landfills and are `doing the right thing' at the same time. Once purchasing agents, school food service directors, building and solid waste directors are shown the savings they are eager to recycle," stated Katz.
