West Coast Bancorp Appoints Richard R. Rasmussen General Counsel

West Coast Bancorp today announced the appointment of Richard R. Rasmussen as EVP and General Counsel.

President & CEO Robert D. Sznewajs commented, "Dick Rasmussen brings to West Coast Bank a wealth of knowledge in virtually all aspects of banking law. His experience and abilities will be a great asset to West Coast Bank."

Rasmussen's legal financial services experience include 27 years with the US Bancorp Legal Department, including 12 years as Senior Vice President and Manager of the department.

Rasmussen's community activities include Board of Directors for both the Portland Repertory Theatre and the Portland Area Council of Camp Fire, Inc; Chair of the YMCA Metro Center Management Committee; and fundraising/audience development activities for the Oregon Symphony.

Rasmussen's academic credentials include a Bachelor's of Science, finance major, from the University of Oregon; Jurist Doctorate from the University of Oregon Law School; and graduate from Pacific Coast School of Banking.

Rasmussen has also been active on numerous professional boards, including Chair of both the Corporate Counsel Committee and the Debtor/Creditor Section and member of the Executive Committee, Business and Corporate Law Section of the Oregon State Bar; Bank Counsel Committee, American Bankers Association; and Uniform Commercial Code Committee, American Bar Association.
