Deloitte Consulting Veteran Joins Docent; Karen West Appointed VP of Professional Services for eLearning Company

Docent, Inc. (Nasdaq:DCNT), a provider of eLearning and knowledge exchange technology, announced today that Karen West, 41, has been appointed as vice president of professional services. Ms. West was most recently a partner with Deloitte Consulting and has over 15 years of experience in consulting and consulting services.
Ms. West will head the professional services group, which guides clients and partners through assessment, design, integration, maintenance and testing of Docent's flagship product, Docent Enterprise. Docent enables the exchange of knowledge among large enterprises, educational content providers and professional communities by using fully Web-based programs. Clients include Andersen Consulting, Deloitte Consulting and Hewlett Packard.
Ms. West will be reporting directly to Dave Ellett, Docent chairman, president and chief executive officer, at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, California.
"Bringing Karen on board will have a significant positive impact on the long-term relationships we develop with our customers and partners," said Ellett. "She has worked directly with clients in a consulting role for over 15 years, and now she'll be applying that experience to expand and improve the professional services we offer."
Ms. West received her bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley and her master's in business administration from Stanford University. Prior to Deloitte, she held positions at Oracle, Hay Management Consultants and Peat Marwick /KPMG.
