Stratasys Rapid Prototyping System Used in Brandeis University's Evolution Project

Stratasys announced that its rapid prototyping system was used by Brandeis University scientists when they recently programmed a computer to follow the laws of evolution and design a basic robot.
After the program allowed the robot design to evolve through 600 design generations, the computer sent the fittest design to the Stratasys Genisys 3D Printer, a rapid prototyping system, which built the 3-dimensional structure from the computer's design file, requiring no tooling or human intervention. The successful automated evolution and construction project is a giant leap for artificial intelligence.
