CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2000
Acsis, Inc., a leading provider of automated data collection solutions for the supply chain, today announced the introduction of DPExchange.net, their new, on-line service for supply chain execution among trading partners. The site allows customers to provide mission-critical information to partners in the supply chain utilizing the latest technologies in ERP integration, database extraction, XML communication, RF data collection (barcode and RFID tracking) and wireless enterprise event updates to cell phones, pagers, PDAs and other intelligent appliances.
Acsis will be demonstrating the site at Frontline Solutions Expo 2000, held October 3 - 5 at the Rosemont Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois. Serving as the primary communications medium for the company's new Vendor Collaboration Program, the Web portal will feature the following applications:
-- Electronic Purchase Orders - Customers can send purchase orders to all their vendors via the Internet. With DPExchange.net there is no need to fax or mail P.O.'s. These electronic P.O.'s can easily be integrated into the suppliers order entry system.
-- Purchase Order Acknowledgement - This feature provides the customer with instantaneous feedback, automatically acknowledging that the supplier has received the Purchase Order.
-- Vendor Compliance Labeling - From the Purchase Order information extracted from the customers ERP system, DPExchange.net allows the supplier to generate fully compliant barcode labels. There is no need for sophisticated barcode-labeling software. Individual, carton, pallet and quick receive barcode labels are automatically generated from the system.
-- Advanced Shipment Notices - Utilizing an inexpensive scanner to scan the created barcodes, DPExchange.net can generate Advanced Shipment Notices to the customer, providing increased visibility for the incoming shipment.
-- Shipment Authorization - Many trading partners provide daily releases of orders from a large blanket order. DPExchange.net ensures the necessary communication and collaboration between trading partners to easily acknowledge shipment authorizations and alert appropriate personnel to any exceptions.
-- Third Party Warehousing - DPExchange.net facilitates the effective communication of shipments and receipts to third party warehouses. All workflow processes and paperwork involved with the shipment or receipt are created using DPExchange.net.
Steven G. Selfridge, President and Chief Operating Officer of Acsis, Inc., said, "DPExchange.net provides planning visibility and cost savings to both customer and vendor that have not existed up to now. We believe Acsis plays a vital role in the Supply Chain Execution Market, which industry analysts estimate will grow from $1.6 billion in 1999 to $8.3 billion in 2004.
