NEWARK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2000
Prudential announced today that October 2 marks the beginning of the company's first-ever "eBusiness Awareness Month," a month-long recognition of the impact that Internet technology has on the way the enterprise does business.
Prudential will host a variety of activities and workshops at its corporate campuses across the country, and will also use virtual delivery mechanisms to touch as many associates as possible. The activities are designed to demonstrate how Prudential's technology solutions enhance the way companies do business and improve the work/life balance of its employees and customers.
"The Internet age has produced companies that rely very heavily on their business partners to provide technology solutions that help them meet their profit goals and objectives," said Bob Golden, executive vice president of Operations & Systems. "And with technology being so vital to the success of our businesses, we are dedicating an entire month to discuss the impact of eBusiness on our company and share the vision of our eBusiness philosophy in today's Internet economy," Golden continued.
"Its no secret that the essential ingredient to any successful enterprise is its workforce and with the economy operating at a fever pitch, talent has proved hard to come by," said Jean Hamilton, CEO of Prudential Institutional. "Combining our world class financial services expertise with the very latest in wireless technology, we help employers attract top talent by outfitting them with solutions that make it easy for their employees to access a variety of financial and benefits data when and where the want it -- which often leads to increased job productivity," Hamilton added.
E-Business Awareness Month will be centered around four weekly themes:
Oct. 2-6: eCustomers - The impact of eBusiness on the customer
Oct. 9-13 eEconomics - The economic implications of the development and rapid growth of the Internet for Prudential and the economy in general
Oct. 16-20: eChange - The impact that new technology will have on our associates in their personal and professional lives
Oct. 23-27: eLearning - The impact that technology will have on Prudential associates as they learn and develop in the new economy.
