Yipes has announced service in 16 cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Ft. Collins, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Longmont, Miami, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, Riverside, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Worcester. By the end of this year, Yipes will serve 20 cities coast to coast.
Yipes is the defining provider of a new class of managed optical IP networks. Yipes leverages the elegance of native Ethernet technology to provide Just-In-Time Bandwidth(SM) that is smoothly and quickly scalable from 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps (in 1 Mbps increments), enabling the next generation of Internet services. Yipes' network typically provides bandwidth at less than half the price of traditional data communications services. Yipes' services, currently available in 16 cities coast-to-coast, include Yipes MAN (metro area networking), Yipes WAN (wide area networking) and Yipes NET (high-speed Internet access). Yipes is building the first Application-Aware Networksm, which will empower customers to manage bandwidth and quality of service on a real-time, application-specific basis. Yipes has received $230 million in funding from more than 20 investors including Norwest Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), The Sprout Group/DLJ, Charter Growth Capital, Chase Capital Partners, BancBoston Capital/Robertson Stephens, Soros Private Equity Partners and Intel Capital.
